CARNIVAL IN THE STREETS OF IBIZA 

Boundless imagination, streets full of color and choreography, and even laughter or moments for reflection because sometimes the features exposed by the people who participate are present characters, although there are also classics that are a must in a carnival.

Ibiza in carnivals can not compete with Rio de Janeiro, nor Tenerife, but there is no doubt that the streets are animated and filled with colorful with the cavalcade of this popular and local carnival held every year on Carnival Sunday. And the proof: these images that show that imagination and ingenuity are not lacking. From the Disney classics like The Lion King, where they staged a spectacular choreography.

And also the  Latins rhythms, percussion and dance during the hours-long parade, that passes through the main streets of the city. In the picture a group who brought to Ibiza, the island rhythms of Cuba.

The word "Carnival"  is always linked with Brazil, so there is always some Brazilian reminiscent, also here in the Carnival of Ibiza, which is quite international. Anyway the temperatures in February in Ibiza are a bit differents from the carioca country, but fortunately this year we were lucky, and the sun shone the whole time on the parade.

Ibiza´s carnival also mention some issues of the island. Here the huge parade of urchins, a very ibicenc animal that becomes every time less usual in the island fields. This is a tribute to this animal that is almost made of thousands spikes.

The aviation was present on several occasions, and in this participation there were  various colored planes made of baloons, which was dedicated to the 40 airmen. A very "retro" fashion and features.

This one was also about aviation, and to the fashion, was included a live music concert with a wonderful coreography.

Egypt, the ancient and powerful Egypt was also present into the Ibiza streets, the group performed on a spectacular choreography and very colorful costumes of the ancient Egypt era.

The carnival of Venice is worldwide famous. For those who could not go there this time, a group brought the Venice carnival here, a group dressed with elegant costumes through the city.

the imagination in carnival is very vast indeed, and also the characters in stories have their place here. Kings, princes, soldiers, maids.... etc. In the picture above the members of an association recreates the story of "Rapunzel".

The great classics are also present here, although the day was beautiful and very very sunny, a huge group performed the "singing in the rain", so the umbrellas this time were useful for the spectacular coreagrafia that these young people did.

The Carnival says goodbye, until next year, when the next carnival Sunday 2015 will be held once more, this parade through the Ibiza streets offering colourful and happiness.

TOUR AROUND "ES AMUNTS"

ES AMUNTS THE NORTH SIDE OF THE ISLAND

Es Amunts is the most rugged mountainous area of the island of Ibiza, located at the north side of the island. And endless lush forest and spectacular cliffs above the sea are the best known landscapes of this place, mixed with sea views and the most rural area of the island.

So we organize an excursion around Es Amunts, so we were celebrating the starting of a new year.

A part of the landscapes were very rural and countryside, offering a spectacular green, full of vegetation.

We took chance to search mushrooms, during the walk, although not lack at all of good humor all day long prevailed during the first site of the day, because the second part of the day fatigue takes hold of some if not all on us.

While walking along the paths in the forest, we saw some old buildings that were used by shepherds to keep the herd at night in case they had to sleep out in this area. At least they could have a place to spend the night down a roof.

Although we are in the north of the island, if we look from the top of mountains, the view extends to the south, and we can even see the top of the famous island of "Es Vedra" due its 382 meters above sea level.

Such a large area of forest in summer requires constant vigilance to prevent forest fires or other natural misfortune. Unfortunately as we experienced during last summer we still have some of them, those awful events affects the flora and fauna of this island.

Despite the threatening weather of the previous day, it changed to cloudless skies and the day let us enjoy a magnificent sunny day that filled the landscape on green, very green, mainly because the big amount of mediterranean pine and the island's native flora.

Another thing we can observe, is the holes on to rocks, they were used as a place were animals and herds could drink. Here we call them "es cucons"

Thanks to the cooperation of this lovely lady, we kneew we were in the right direction of our walk. The people of "Es Amunts" is really nice. This lady called Antonia is a neighbor of this place.

The way was not much difficult... and let us enjoy the nature.

In some places the great green offers great views surrounded by olive trees, specially during the afternoon is ending..

The green turns up to yellow due the sunlight.

As we continue the landscape changed a bit, offering pale colour plants that made contrast with the green carob trees.

Just before sunset the vinyeards turn into a landscape with orange colours. These plants still have no leaves, but in future will be green again

The landscape in this area turns impressive with the olive trees with gnarled trunks.

The sunsets in Ibiza are famous, but onto the sea. Today we see a different one, between olive trees. Very nice also.

The part of the cliffs in this excursion will come in another entry very soon.

BLOGGERS OF IBIZA

Who has the biggest one?, I have declined my self to compare my camera against those big cameras from the other bloggers. Mine is very little and simple but for me is quite enough...

I must say that I have two appointments with other Ibicencans bloggers, and have been a very enjoyable experience. I would like to thank to all of them for that.

The second appointment, Javier Marí, the biggest chief Spotters of Ibiza came, and of course I took the opportunity to immortalize him on a picture (beard and all) with the bell tower of the beautiful church of Sant Rafel, in the heart of the island.

Here Jordi Gavaldá shows Javi the last results of the pictures at that moment. That day we were in middle of a little village as well as at the center of the countryside near that nice village.

Here Joan Costa taken pictures to the hundred of flowers that thanks to the many rains on the island during last winter the countryside show us during this spring.

In our first appointment, we were at the East coast side of the island. The sea was the center of the pictures during that day. Up here we can see Jordi Gavaldá the famous blogger taken pictures with his camera.

That day Javier Marí could not share the day with us, but at the second chance in San Rafael he meet us.
But we are missing someone, and Jordi tries to convince him... by the phone.

At last!!! Here he comes....!!! Oh Pepe, Shame on you!!!. Always arriving late at all places... this is familiar to me...!! Is Pepe, !!! The great Pepe.

Here we are all four, so time to take pictures... Pepe Roselló doesn´t waste time and he prepares camera and start doing pictures like no tomorrow....
