Arriving the summer season, Ibiza is ready for its famous sunsets. Anyway for those who have visited the island in winter, I´m sure that they have been amazed at the sunsets on the winter months, even better in bad weather, where clouds and winds improve the beautiful sunsets.

These images are a good example of this. The stormy sea, the sky full of clouds and sun hiding down into the sea. This becomes a spectacular symphony of colors of clouds and raging sea.

All these images are taken in a relatively short time interval in one afternoon when sun going down. Even just as the sun has been hiding in the sea, different colors of the sky are changing in seconds.

For those who are now in Ibiza during April and May, it will be possible to watch unrepeatable sunsets, and have nothing to envy to the such famous midsummer sunsets. These ones now, are the bests sunsets of the year.

PEPE THE BIG BLOGGER OF SUNRISES AND SUNSETS OF IBIZA

At request of Pepe Roselló (blog islaibiza.blogspot.com), we meet a day to take him to witness the spectacular sunsets in the area of the Cala d hort. At the appointed time and with the smiling face hi appeared with great stamina to go and pictured the sunset as only Pepe knows how to do so. The jacket in his hand was a sign that despite the sunny day there was in Ibiza, in winter the temperatures can drop down much when the sun decides to leave us a few hours to heat other areas of the planet.

I must admit that this place has a unique magic to watch the spectacular sunsets and with the added attraction that are not overcrowded, which are even more beautiful.

And there´s Pepe, this work mates and friend, waiting for the right moment that is craved, that magical moment that it is day or night ... the time that it sunny day and temperatures dipped to the effect of wind and jackets were absolutely essential...

He is now in his own little but spectacular world. He ignores everything except the camera and the sun... He´s just aware of anything that can call his attention for taken the best of the pictures...

arriving to the place that would impress Pepe, we pass through a way where we can enjoy the silhouettes of the pines and the top of the big rock island with the cloud on the top, we were involved with that beautiful mountain and seascape scenary that offered us the place...

No matter for Pepe the wind and I was freezing cold, Pepe with his fleece jacket keeps taking photos. He´s enjoying the moment while I yearn to get him tired and stop taking photos. But that moment does not exist for Pepe that goes on and on taking pictures despite the wind, cold and anything that might prevent him from trying to take pictures.

And while Pepe still engrossed in her trance watching the scenery through the camera I keep turning to try to get a little warmer ... and I decided then to take some pictures as well...

And there are people who were impassive when we saw the sunset, enjoying the natural spectacle silently this spectacle that takes place every evening in the same place and almost at the same time .... Nothing that I also encourage me to take a photograph like the one below because the place and the natural show really invites to take a picture, like that one bellow...

The winter time offers great tranquility that everyone call feel in the whole island. This silence here comes with this rhythmic noise of the sea almost in calmness moving onto the shore. And this sensation of loneliness despite that in beaches like here during the twilight persons are coming with their tripods cameras to catch this magic moment. The "Sol post", it is a local word that only is in use in this island and indicates this moment in which the Sun already has disappeared from the horizon.

Magic as well as the images during this moment which turne into profiles. These profiles of people of all the ages seeing as the Sun falls down, and once the Sun is gone the persons and the colors are playing at transforming little by little in the horizon. In this horizon we can see the great and giant watchtower of the island, the island Es Vedrà. As a curious note, indicate that the name of this beach D'Hort (Cove of the garden) shoul be the same as Cala D'or of Majorca had to take the same name since it is an urbanization resort with names of this island, but for some reason the Cala D'Hort there it was distorted and changed to Cala D'or (Cove of the gold) ... curiosities that have some names.

Raising s'Talaia ó S'Atalaiassa of Sant Josep that is the highest point of Ibiza with 475 meters of altitude there can see this image of the islands of the West area of the island. The giant Vedrà with his impressive silhouette at the zone South, and in the north zone, not such a high but equally big called island " s'espartà ó espartar " (for the quantity of "esparto" that exists in it) and behind this great island a series of smaller so called islands of "Ses Bledes" (the spinach beets, will it be for that these vegetables exist in these islands?). Views seasoned with the branches of the pines in these heights and in the whole island.

Mysteries of the island

At the south west there exists a little island with high cliffs. Its name is Es Vedrá, and is 385 meters high (1.270 feet). Next to it the much smaller Es vedranell.

Some people assure that at the bottom of Es Vedra exists a UFO base. There are a lot of eyewitnesses who assure that they have seen some strange lights around it.

Anyway from Cala D´hort you will have a great view of them, also from where dramatic sunsets can bee seen from there.
