A very old folklore of Ibiza has remained thanks to some associations and thanks to them still we can see a very primitive and old dances, of unknown origins. 
Some people believe that these dances were originally dedicated to the moon. And so, the woman dances slowly around the man, making circles. But there are a big number of theories.
As far we know, this dances were very popular during weddings. The dance "Sa Curta" (The short one) was danced by uncles and grandparents during wedings it is a very simple dance, then "Sa Llarga" (The long one) was danced by the rest of the guests, is much quicker dance where the man jumps around the lady. And finally the "nou rodades" (nine drafts or circles) where danced by the newly married couple.
